RMAN 2004-11-09 - By VLyutyk@(protected)
You should check with your backup software vendor and link the libobk.so library
Something like this:
%svrmgrl SVRMGRL> connect internal SVRMGRL> shutdown normal; SVRMGRL> exit cd $ORACLE_HOME/lib cp libobk.so libobk.so.SAVE rm libobk.so
#copy vendor provided libobk.so file into $ORACLE_HOME/lib cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin mv oracle oracle.SAVE LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib export LD_LIBRARY_PATH echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib make -f ins_rdbms.mk ioracle LLIBMM=-lobk cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin ldd oracle ***LIBRARY TEST SECTION*** Name Time-Stamp CheckSum Flags Version oracle: %svrmgrl SVRMGRL> connect internal SVRMGRL> startup; SVRMGRL> exit

I use ora9i on suse, united linux. I discovered that I can not use the rman
to perform backup. Each time I invoke it, it fails without giving any error. when I invoke the rman command on it's own it does not give me the rman prompt as it should do. I have confirmed that rman is installed. Pls can someone tell me if this something I need to do.
I have got the rman working on my HP-UX servers and Windows server.
thanks
